Advert Analysis- Bella Hadid

  • The mise-en-scene of the celebrity (Bella Hadid) in the advert connotes the luxurious and expensive feel to the advert.
  • The mise-en-scene of the models costume being all black makes her stand out against the green/teal coloured background. Additionally, the colour black symbolises class and professionalism in the advert.
  • The use of direct address makes the model look confident in what she is wearing which could create an aspirational image to the female target audience.
  • The lexis of 'Fendi Roma' establishes the well known high-end brand, which could suggest to the audience that they would want to be seen and disclose the brand that they are wearing due to its high-end reputation, which again has connotations of expensive and luxurious.
  • The simplicity and lack of mise-en-scene and written codes on the advert creates an hermeneutic code and makes the audience question the price of the clothes which reinforces the idea of high-end fashion.
  • The mise-en-scene of the models top of which you can see through have connotations of sexuality due to Bella Hadid being a famous runway model and being know for her skinny, desirable body creates a desirable aspirational image for the target audience.
