 How has ownership shaped the production and distribution of Black Panther?

Walt Disney film productions are a multi-national major conglomerate.

Modern issue is that Marvel studios are trying to create too many products at once so the quality of the products are going down. The quality of the CG has gone down, they're releasing unfinished films.

Disney are a major studio.

indie= independent

CGI= computer generated imagery

VFX=visual effects

SFX=special effects

Practical effects eg fake knife, blood pack etc

Black panther trailer- What makes Black Panther look like it is produced by a major film company?

The extensive use of CGI throughout the trailer.

A range of exciting locations, such as the neon cityscape of downtown Seoul and a waterfall in central Africa which requires significant production value.

A range of high profile actors such as Michael B Jordan(Creed, Space Jam 2, Fantastic 4), Chadwick Boseman (21 Bridges, Captain America Civil War, Gods of Egypt) These celebrity A-lister stars provide the audience with star appeal, and will pull in pre existing fans of these actors.

The costumes are elaborate, exotic and striking and clearly of a high production values.

The use of licensed music is extremely expensive.
The sound quality is of a particularly standard, with extremely high quality bass and sound mixing.
Fast montage and complex editing of trailer and range of conventions of successful trailers, including the 'mic drop' comedy moment, the car chase sequence, the inclusion of a villain, and walls of bass.
A classic good vs evil narrative.
The marvel studios ident is prominently placed at the start, which appeals to a pre-sold audience

How does Black Panther minimise risk and maximise profit?
It uses many familiar conventions of action movies like fight scenes and the inclusion of blood and wounds which they know the audience will want to watch.
They use well known actors to ensure they bring in a new audience maximising their audience.
